Jamie laughed a bit when Ryder said the only European band he'd heard of was Tokio Hotel. Okay, really not much of a culture variety in his taste then. "Tokio Hotel's good I guess. But really, you should hear more foriegn bands. There may actually be some you like." There were, tons of other Europe bands that Ryder would probably like. Nothing Jamie would listen to really, but still, foriegn bands.
And, silence, once again. Why did the silence keep falling over their conversation? Oh yeah, they had nothing really to talk about. "And it went quiet again. We really need some conversation that won't die out after a few minutes." Unfortunately, Jamie had no idea what that conversation topic might be. Sigh. Maybe Ryder could provide some form of conversation? Hopefully. Or else Jamie would have to start throwing random conversation starters out again, and that was just a little weird.
Well after thinking about it, Ryder remembered another European band he knew- Defy the Laws of Tradition. He had stumbled upon them going through bands on Myspace before he was sent to the Institution and figured with them being a metal band and relatively small. Of course there were probably other foreign bands he would like. Bring me the Horizon was from the UK after all.
Ryder laughed a little at Jamie's remark. The outcast seemed reliant on conversations. And Ryder sucked at keeping them going. Especially when he was tired. Like he was now. Oh well worth a try. "Um....what do you do over the weekends?" Maybe it would lead into another conversation. A more interesting conversation.
After he was done talking, Ryder squirmed around in the blankets a little and let an accidental yawn slip past his lips. His eyes found their way to the alarm clock. It was a little after one. For once, he kind of wished for his come and go insomnia. It'd be easier.
Jamie bit back another laugh at the conversation he'd chosen. Ah well, he was the one dying for conversation, he really couldn't be picky on what that conversation happened to be. "Well, obviously since I've been put in here nothing too exciting. Hell I barely know which days actually are weekends here. But, before I came here it was just normal stuff I guess. I tried to stay away from home as much as possible, even if I had nothing better to do than just walk around the streets with no destination." Wow, he was just such an open book, wasn't he? Ask anything and chances are you'd get at least a close to completely honest answer. He didn't like hiding things, even though he wouldn't be so quick to admit just why he tried to stay away from home, it was probably already pretty obvious that there were problems there.
Ryder's look to the clock had forced Jamie to follow the gaze and see the time as well. One in the morning. Woah, he hadn't even realized it'd been getting so late. Or, early, in this case. Normally he'd be ready to collapse by this time, but tonight (or this morning) he wasn't really tired. Weird. Maybe that was all psychological or something, he hadn't been tired yet cause he hadn't known the time. Yeah that made no sense but oh well, it did in his head.
